This STEM for Change project is a series of videos that helps promote the 2022 STEM for Change scholarship. This scholarship has helped women in STEM receive the financial support they need, especially as they are underrepresented as a gender in the field. The objective was to tell a compelling story in an effective way that really tugs on the audience's emotions, to convey the importance of women in STEM, and display how ApplyBoard's scholarship positively affects the lives of these women.
These videos are updated from ApplyBoard's regular branding with a gradient-styled background. This includes hand-drawn line drawings rendering our subject’s story as she speaks. Line rendering happens behind our main characters. These pieces are meant to be expressive without distracting too much from the story. What was originally presented as mediocre assets because of COVID-19, have been amplified to attract ApplyBoard's global audience of students, recruitment partners, partner schools, and internal team members.
