Animation, Projection Mapping, Videography
The runway visuals for Frankie Collection was inspired by the development process of sustainable fabrics and clothing. Frankie collection is a sustainable streetwear fashion brand based in Vancouver. The collection that is being presented is the “Utility” collection. The collection’s theme is neon and it goes fittingly with the clothes they reworked from Adidas. Nevertheless, this animation was based on those neon colours; black, white, neon green, and neon pink; like the collection.
In an abstract way, these lines waves, and particles illustrate the art of fabrics being weaved together, thus producing a futuristic tone. This goes seamlessly with the message being portrayed. The video starts off with a 90’s VHS edit to pay homage to the 90’s vintage clothing they use for their brand. Modern stock videos of students and street graphics were used to give the video a more youthful, hip-hop tone.
Frankie collection, although inspired by vintage clothing, views itself as the future of fashion. Sustainable clothing is the new future of fashion. The main focus: help save the future planet. The most important part of the fashion show is the clothing being presented on the stage, therefore these abstract quick visuals help to subtly bring that excitement to the audience as it conveys mystery and room for interpretation.
